Do you feel more comfortable bobbing out on the big blue than back on dry land? Find your sea legs and get ready to hoist your mainsail in the City of Sails!

Head out on the water in Auckland

DAY 1

A swift transfer will deliver you to your accommodation in the heart of Auckland’s business district: the Crowne Plaza Auckland. Take a wander down nearby Queen or Victoria Streets and snag a table for dinner.

DAY 2

Grab a hearty breakfast and gear up for a full day out on the water with an Auckland Sea Kayak tour to Rangitoto Island. You’ll see Auckland city from an entirely different perspective today as you glide across the Waitemata Harbour; keep your eyes peeled for Little Blue Penguins along the way.

After you pull up kayaks on Rangitoto, you will embark on an easy one-hour trek to the volcano’s summit for 360-degree views of greater Auckland. Back at the water’s edge, a tasty kiwi lunch awaits. Enjoy a quick dip in the sea before paddling back to St Heliers Bay.

Island-hop around Auckland on the ferry

DAY 3

After being introduced to Rangitoto yesterday – the largest and youngest volcano of the bunch – today you will explore Waiheke Island courtesy of Fullers Auckland.

The ‘isle of wine’, as it’s often called, is a 40-minute leisurely ferry ride across the sparkling Hauraki Gulf. Once you arrive, embark on a 1.5-hour scenic highlights tour of the island with an expert guide to inform and enlighten.

DAY 4

Today brings a real bucket-list experience to keen maritime voyagers: sailing a bona fide America’s Cup yacht. This unique opportunity will see you participate as a member of the crew on board an elite vessel for two hours, taking the helm or just sitting back and enjoying a ride on the Waitemata Harbour, if that’s more to your liking.

This experience with Explore Group grants you exclusive bragging rights, to say you’ve sailed a yacht that has taken part in the world’s ultimate regatta.

Set sail on a speed machine in Auckland

DAY 5

It’s time to get that heart rate up again with a few whips around the harbour with Auckland Jet Boat Tours. Brace yourself for an actionpacked 35 minutes, zipping under the Auckland Harbour Bridge and roaring out into the open waters of the Waitemata Harbour.

Hold on tight for high-speed turns, fishtails and power slides as you race towards Rangitoto Island; then it’s time to find your land legs before you fly home.
