For The Film Buffs

If you consider yourself a bit of a 'cinephile', plan a trip to California in January. The Palm Springs International Film Festival kicks off the yearly events schedule with screenings of new and notable international films at the beginning of the month, many of which go on to win Oscars.

Speaking of industry awards, January also marks the start of the awards season with the Golden Globes (11 January) beginning the official countdown to the Academy Awards (22 February). California has long hosted these glamorous galas, with film and television's biggest celebs frocking up and hitting the red carpet.

Around The Holidays

.........................................................................................................................................................
Celebrate the holidays in style – 18th century style that is. California's Yosemite National Park is home to the Bracebridge Dinner at The Ahwahnee, which features more than 100 players dressing the part to transport you back to 18th Century England. From squires and minstrels to servants and the Lord of Misrule, this unique event is four hours of carols, rituals and a seven-course banquet dinner. Leading up to Christmas, the Bracebridge Dinner is slated for the 13th to the 25th of December 2015.

Of course, this is only a sampling of what's happening in the Golden State throughout the year, so be sure to check out our California events page for more information on all 2015 annual events to assist in making your next holiday the best it can be.
