Emmanuel Renaut Adds French Flavour To Majestic Princess

Enjoy a taste of France at sea, with Princess Cruises’ new culinary collaboration, La Mer – A French Bistro by Emmanuel Renaut. The restaurant, by three-Michelin-starred chef Renaut, will make its debut on Majestic Princess in April.

Renaut is renowned for his restaurant Flocons de Sel in the French Alps, before which he created culinary masterpieces in top kitchens in Paris and London, including Hotel de Crillon, Claridge’s and Auberge de l’Eridan.

La Mer will offer authentic French cuisine with a modern twist, drawing on favourites from Renaut’s Flocons Bistrot menu, as well as new concepts just for La Mer. There will be a cover charge for dinner, but lunch and breakfast options by the Princess culinary teams will be complimentary.

“What I like most about my job is that dining experiences touch people’s emotions,” Renaut says. “I’ve worked enthusiastically to design delicate and flavourful dishes and I’m really proud that the dinner menu I created will be served in the elegant and relaxed environment of La Mer.”

The fine-dining restaurant, situated in the ship’s atrium, will combine French style, authentic Parisian details and floor-to-ceiling sea views, with design by Jeffrey Beers International.

The inaugural voyage is a round trip from Rome, followed by a tour of Europe, before Majestic Princess repositions to its home port of Shanghai, beginning its season there in July.

It will be the only cruise ship offering two specialty dinner menus designed by Michelin-starred chefs at sea in China, following earlier news of another new Princess partnership with chef Richard Chen.
