Flight Centre's Blake Hartman travels to South Africa and Zimbabwe to experience the wild life. Blake visits the Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls and spends time on the Zambezi River. Blake, tell us about your safari experience.
I was raised in South Africa and fortunately I still have family living there which gives me an excuse to keep visiting! I continuously look forward to my next visit thanks to the amazing scenery, wildlife and friendly people.
For an awesome holiday, you can start off with direct flights to Johannesburg from either Perth or Sydney and then connecting flights up to the Kruger National Park.
A few nights stay at Sabi Sabi Resort will include all meals and two game drives a day and one night drive. Keep your eye out for a leopard – and be sure to let me know if you see one.
After cuddling up to the 'Big Five': lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo, head up to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Enjoy a few relaxing nights at a luxury river lodge with a cruise along the Zambezi River which will bring you up close and personal with some crocs and hippo’s.
For those a little braver than me get an adrenalin pump by trying out a 110 metre bungy jump off Victoria Falls or some white water rafting.
So much more to do and see, but that’s another story for another day.
