If you’ve ever dreamed of having a butler, hurry to the Norwegian Jewel for a stay at The Haven by Norwegian. The butler – trained at the International Institute of Modern Butlers – is yours 24 hours a day. He or she will unpack your suitcase, pour your Champagne and serve you fine cuisine in your suite, complete with a white tablecloth.

You’ll also have a personal concierge, who can arrange priority access to embarkation and debarkation, tenders, spa treatments, entertainment and dining.

The Haven, which is an exclusive area on board ship, has its own lounge, restaurant and courtyard with a private pool and sundeck. There is a range of staterooms, including  the three-bedroom Garden Villa, which sleeps up to eight people and has a spacious living room, broad ocean views, a luxurious bath, private garden with hot tub, and even a baby grand piano.

But you don’t have to be staying in The Haven to experience luxury aboard Norwegian Jewel, which will be based in Australasian waters from October 3, 2017. Here are five more indulgent experiences for your cruising pleasure.

Indulge your sweet tooth on Chocoholic Night at the ornate Tsar’s Palace, which has been inspired by the grand palaces of Russia. The specialty chocolate-based desserts are available once per sailing. But if that’s not enough, you can try the French macaroons, chocolate pralines and cupcakes at The Bake Shop. Still want to indulge? Head to the French Art Deco-style Magnum’s Champagne & Wine Bar for a bottle of bubbly.

Build your art collection at Norwegian Cruise Line’s onboard art galleries – you’ll find works by well-known artists and can make a bid at one of the Art Auctions at Sea (check the Freestyle Daily for auction times). If a sparkling investment is more to your taste, be dazzled by the emeralds, diamonds, sapphires and rubies at Colombian Emeralds International – you can even try on the Signature Million-Dollar Diamond ring.

Travel for me is about conversations and connections. There’s nothing like setting foot in a new land and meeting people a world apart. From talking to North Sea fishermen in Norway’s Lofoten Islands to breakfast chat at a B&B in my own back yard, there’s always a story to share and a tale to tell.
