Avalon Waterways is celebrating its two newest river cruise ships in Asia with a Fly Free deal for passengers on its 2017 itineraries.

Guests can be assured of the latest Avalon luxuries and technology on the ships, Avalon Siem Reap and Avalon Myanmar, which were both launched last year and have begun sailing between Vietnam and Cambodia, and in Myanmar.

Anyone who books a 2017 cruise aboard one of these two ships before 31 May, 2016, is eligible for free return economy flights from Australia. Those who prefer to arrange their own flights will still receive a $1,000 discount per person off the cruise price.

  2. Golden Myanmar & The Alluring Irrawaddy - Over the course of 14 days you'll cruise between Bagan and Bhamo, ticking off temples, rural communities and more.

Onboard highlights include the air-conditioned suites, which all feature an open-air balcony with wall-to-wall panoramic windows and retractable doors.

I love the kind of travelling that is one part strategic planning and two parts spontaneous adventure. Whether I'm exploring my local city or a small town in the middle of nowhere, I'm always hoping to find something no one else has discovered.
