Tourism Ireland clearly knows how to play-up to their best features with this year’s St Patrick’s Day promotion: a heartfelt, patriotic video expertly narrated by none other than international film star Liam Neeson.
Watch and listen as Tourism Ireland engages Liam’s legendary and poetic dulcet tones to entice travellers the world over to visit the Emerald Isle. Each year on March 17th thousands of landmarks, iconic sites, statues, buildings and even people and their pets go green to celebrate Ireland and St. Patrick's Day.
The world goes green on St Patrick’s Day video cleverly pans around the world showing iconic monuments lit up in green for St Paddy’s Day from the London Eye to the Christ the Redeemer in Rio De Janeiro. Then masterfully crosses to the rolling, verdant shores of Ireland. Cue Neeson’s “The world goes green, but here in Ireland everyday is bathed in green.” Poignant.
“Many people around the world feel a deep spiritual connection to Ireland and more than 70 million people claim links to the island of Ireland, so St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect moment to reconnect them with their heritage,” says Diane Butler, Manager of Tourism Ireland Australia and New Zealand. If you’re a lover of Ireland, or connected to the land like so many of us are, then spread the love by watching and sharing this video and #GoGreen4PatricksDay.
And what does Liam say? “I'm delighted to be helping Tourism Ireland celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It will be wonderful to see the world turn green again on the 17th March as nations come together to celebrate the fun and warmth of the Irish.”
This year look out for some impressive new sites ‘going green’ for the first time including The Colosseum in Rome and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, Paris along with Sydney Town Hall, Ada Bridge in Belgrade, Serbia and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Cheers to that!
