Allicia Heath, a Flight Centre product specialist, recently took a seven day trip to the Cook Islands.

"The Cook Islands had always been on my radar to go. When a great deal came along I took it. The tour company was great because they arranged the complete package including flights, accommodation, day trips and transfers. I thoroughly recommend spending a couple of days staying on Rarotonga for the culture and the restaurants before heading to Aitutaki, which is a great island to relax on the beach. I returned to Australia eager to plan my next trip back to this island paradise. "

Beachfront of Sunset Resort, Rarotonga

"I was lucky to stay at this resort for one night in the Beachfront Suite. I took this photo looking out from my patio. The hammock was very attractive however it was the sun lounges closer to the water's edge that grabbed my attention."

Four Wheel Drive Safari

"You needed a four wheel drive to explore the heart of the island. I signed up for the Four Wheel Drive Safari Tour with Raro Safari Tours. On the expedition we followed the 32 kilometre beach road around the island and then headed inland onto dirt tracks. We drove up steep inclines to a viewing platform where we looked both inland towards the mountains and out to the sea for the incredible views of the reef."

Aitutaki

"This is one of the islands within Aitutaki lagoon. It's actually where they filmed Survivor Cook Islands. Luckily for the group - tribal council involved nothing more than a group photo."

The Spa at Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa

"At this beautiful resort, travellers can have their manicure or pedicure inside the property before retiring to the private spa pool area for a massage on the day bed. The beds are big enough for couples to indulge together."

The Cultural Village Tour with Dinner &  Show

"The Te Vara Nui Cultural Village is a great example of a traditional Cook Island village. After touring the village, we enjoyed our meal, which was a combination of both traditional and western cuisine while listening to local singing. The dancers then came out and performed for about an hour, before selecting audience members to join them. They tried to teach me how to swing my hips like a local - clearly I mastered this dance technique with ease."

The Pool at the Te Vakora Villas

"I just loved this infinity pool with the view out over the lagoon. It was great to see a local paddling in the distance."

The Light Fittings in the Lobby of Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa

"The team had decorated the lobby of this resort with traditional designs. There were wood carvings by the door, paintings from local artists adorning the walls and these beautiful light fittings hung from the roof."

One Foot Island, Aitutaki

"We did a Bishop's Lagoon Cruise to One Foot Island. I snorkelled in the crystal clear waters where I saw massive clams, parrot fish and clown fish. The tour then took us to One Foot Island where we had lunch and the afternoon to explore. I took this photo sitting at the table looking out to the view. There's also a post office on the island where you can buy post cards to send home and you can also have your passport stamped with a footprint."
