Las Vegas might be full of Elvis impersonators and glittering showgirls, but ‘Sin City’ isn’t all ostentatious bling and tack.
As Phil Burton, singer in Australian pop group Human Nature and Vegas local reports – there’s plenty of class, adventure and romance on offer in Las Vegas too. Here are his tips for experiencing the city.
East Ocean Dim Sum – This is my favourite local Asian restaurant. It serves yum cha every day. The waiters are grumpy but the food always makes up for it!
Mon Ami Gabi – The front balcony of this French restaurant has an incredible view of the Fountains of Bellagio, but this makes it very hard to get a reservation.
Encore Beach Club – We’ve been here a few times for their ‘night-swimming’ evenings. It’s set up like a huge European club with private cabanas surrounding a massive pool.

Lake Mead – This is the biggest man-made lake in the US and there are a lot of different ways to explore it. My favourite is to rent a pontoon boat for a few hours and cruise around. It’s a really relaxing way to spend a day.
Insider info – Many people don’t know that the bar out the front of Mon Ami Gabi has just as good a view as the restaurant itself. And you can just walk in and sit right down.
