Reflecting the cosmopolitan air of its Queen Street Mall address, Brisbane’s NEXT Hotel takes the sophistication level up a notch, especially in the technology department.

NEXT Hotel could very well be Brisbane’s first ‘smart’ hotel. Having injected such useful advancements as smart phone room access, self-serve check-in, own room selection and free Wi-Fi, the hotel is bound to attract a loyal following with both business travellers and hip and trendy leisure clientele.

Striking the perfect balance between technology, convenience and comfort, NEXT even offers guests a selection of complimentary movies and min-bar items.

Brisbane's NEXT Hotel prides itself on providing good service.

Iqbal Jumabhoy, Managing Director & Group CEO of SilverNeedle® Hospitality says: “Returning to the basics of providing good service, we considered very carefully the various ways that will make business life easier, and even enjoyable, for our guests.”

As the saying goes, “location, location, location,” and that is one more thing that NEXT has going for it. Conveniently located at the top end of Brisbane's vibrant Queen Street Mall, guests will find the Queensland capital's best shopping and dining just steps away. City Hall, state government buildings and the business precinct are also minutes away on foot.

The swanky Treasury Casino is just across the street, while Brisbane’s bustling South Bank is a five-minute walk over the Victoria Bridge. Arguably one of the best dining precincts in the city, South Bank is also home to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and many other cultural attractions, as well as the giant Wheel of Brisbane.

The hotel can be accessed from Burnett Lane at the rear of the property or through the main entrance on Queen Street Mall, directly across from the Myer Centre.

It's all about the technology

When Silverneedle Group launched NEXT, it planned for an ultra-modern and tech-savvy hotel. It certainly achieved its goal, and for the guest, the technological convenience begins even before arrival.

Guests may check-in online or via a self-serve kiosk next to reception, but the traditional hotel check-in desk is always available for those who prefer the personal touch. Room selection can be made online, allowing the guest to choose their preference.

Download the NEXT Hotel app to control your in-room communication system, or simply use the complimentary smart phone available in every room.

Free local phone calls, free Wi-Fi and setting controls for mood lighting are just the beginning when it comes to the in-room smart phone. Adjustment of room temperature, channel surfing and much more are right at your fingertips.

Text your room service order via the app or turn the do-not-disturb sign on from the comfort of your SilverNeedle DreamWeave Sleep System bed.

The rooms have an open, modern feel and are stylishly appointed with the latest conveniences. Due to the building’s design, rooms on the higher floors have an additional five metres of floor space. And while there are no penthouses or club level floors, all NEXT guests are treated to the same high level of service, with equal access to all facilities and perks.

Rooms feature the DreamWeave Sleep System bed and your choice of pillow.

The Australian-made DreamWeave Sleep System beds offer the perfect amount of support and come with comfy pillows and duvets to match. Guests can make their pillow selection with a variety of firmness levels on offer – simply choose the one to your liking.

The well-appointed bathrooms are bright and come with all the amenities one would expect in a 4.5-star property, including quality shampoos, lotions, hair dryer, ironing board and ample storage. The in-room safe is large enough to hold a laptop and even comes with an international power adaptor for charging. A robe, slippers, large showers and fluffy towels don’t disappoint either.

And what about those perks ...

Bucking the trend, NEXT Hotel has introduced several perks. In addition to free Wi-Fi, guests can choose up to four mini-bar items free of charge. There is a range of free in-room movies, and for early arrivals there are sleep pods, showers and steam rooms to freshen up and relax.

When you’re ready for a drink, a swim or a relaxing read in the library, head to the stylish digs on Level 4. This club lounge and library overlooks the classy outdoor pool area, where guests can take in the sun while lounging on comfy chairs. At night, the blue lighting makes for a chic spot to enjoy a wine or cocktail with friends.

Hint: For a real treat try the cucumber martini – shaken with gin and served with a scoop of cucumber sorbet – refreshing and simply delicious!

Lennons Restaurant pays homage to the former hotel of same name. Headed up by Executive Chef Todd Adams, comfort food with a gourmet twist is the focus. Fresh ingredients are always the order of the day and after dining on Chef Todd's menu, it's easy to see why this celebrated chef has won two industry awards for best restaurant.

Lennons Restaurant provides gourmet comfort food.

Don't leave without trying the organic roasted beetroot salad for entree, and the mulloway fish with squid, charred corn, cucumber and radish. And be sure to finish with the amazing ginger mousse and candied pistachios with lime jelly and coconut sorbet.
