New Zealand Through The Eyes Of Emilie

4 December 2014

Four people, five days, dozens of discussions about Instagram filters. This is what happens when you let a bunch of Australian Instagrammers loose on New Zealand's North Island, as Flight Centre was quick to discover. Tripping from Auckland to Rotorua, Taupo and Hamilton, we let the social media maestros do their thing and show us NZ through their respective lenses. One of them was Aussie designer and wanderer, Emilie Ristevski.

"New Zealand was such an adventure, full of endless beauty. Even though the trip was short-lived, it was the best possible way to be introduced to a country I have never experienced.

There are so many unbelievably beautiful sights; it’s hard to believe how much diverse beauty can be found only hours apart! All I know is that New Zealand really is a magical place to experience and has left me with so many unforgettable memories and even more wanderlust to go back and explore!"

 Mt Tarawera's incredible colours

"The feeling of flying over New Zealand's magical landscape in a helicopter was incredible, and definitely a highlight from the trip. It was such an amazing way to see and experience this country, and was a chance to see the landscape from such a different perspective. The range of colours and textures surrounding Mt Tarawera were beautiful!"

 Adventure: this way

"I’ve always been a mountain girl, and the mountains here in New Zealand are like nothing else I have experienced! This shot of a little yellow arrow was taken at the top of Mt Tarawera, a beautiful snow-capped volcano."

 Emilie at the Pohutu geyser

"Nature always finds a way to get to me, and exploring the Pohutu geyser was beyond exceptional! The landscape at times can feel very surreal, and the soft steam and turquoise blue of the water surrounding this entire area was dream-like."

 Knocking on the Hobbit's doors

"Each little front-door and garden at Hobbiton has been so thoughtfully put together. The flowers, the colour of the front door, the little curtains, the straw hat - every little detail was so perfect!"

 The magical world of Hobbiton

"This little world in Hobbition was wonderful. Not only are there the most beautiful mountainous landscapes which surround this area, but the attention to detail is so amazing you really feel like you are entering a magical land."
