This week the hype has reached royal proportions as everyone’s favourite couple heads to the alter for the biggest royal celebration since Wills and Kate’s nuptials in 2011. But while we’re all about watching the wedding while we snack on scones and English Breakfast tea, we’re also already planning the honeymoon. Theirs and ours, just to be clear.
Will they stay in the Commonwealth and sunbathe in Saint Lucia? Perhaps they’ll head to where the forest meets the sea in Sri Lanka? Or will it be the crowd favourite, a safari in Namibia? Regardless of where they actually go, royals aren’t the only ones who deserve to be bathed in luxury, so we’ve rounded up the holiday destinations fit for a royal honeymoon that you can book for yourself today.
Ladies and gents get proposing and let’s start booking because these places are seriously suave, not to mention currently on special!

Safari in Namibia
So this is the spot they say, where Royals really honeymoon. Harry and Meghan are tipped to be heading to the Namib Desert, where the world’s largest sand dunes, rocky mountains and grazing plains form the backdrop for luxury lodges. Romantic activities include safari animal drives, dinner by lantern light in the sand dunes, showering under the stars and, because this is one of the clearest, darkest parts of the world, some of the best star gazing on earth. Fancy a hike or quad bike through the dunes before sunset champagne in the hot tub with your love? Of course you do.

Sri Lanka
The jewel in the crown of emerging destinations, Sri Lanka has become the latest hot spot for holiday makers in search of sun, surf and a decent dose of ancient history. Yet Sri Lanka is also home to some incredible private luxury resorts that are certainly Royal ready. Think beachfront resorts with just a handful of secluded, luxury huts with private plunge pools; spa treatments set in private gardens surrounded by nature, and personal butlers and chefs attending your every need. From the capital of Colombo to the lush rainforests and long stretches of sand along the Bentota coastline, Sri Lanka’s blissful isolation and beauty are simply made for romance.

Saint Lucia
If staying in the Commonwealth for the royal honeymoon were important, Saint Lucia would be our top pick. I mean you’ve got volcanic mountains plunging into that turquoise coloured sea that you only ever get in far away, tropical island escapes like this. You’ve got top-notch luxury resorts where villas open onto private plunge pools overlooking said coastline and in-villa massages, luxe spa treatments and gourmet candlelit dinners are standard inclusions. *sigh*.
