Spotlight on New Orleans

7 July 2016

If you like cool jazz and hot Creole food with a side of French pastries, New Orleans’ carnival spirit awaits. New Orleans blends a heady mix of Caribbean, French, Spanish, Italian and African culture, resulting in a famous Creole flavour that brings to life not only the dishes served in New Orleans’ restaurants, but also the music played in its bars and danced to in its streets. The annual Mardi Gras parade is a flamboyant and wonderfully hedonistic example of the city’s fervour.

Spend your days winding along the Mississippi River exploring the city’s unique neighbourhoods and varying architectural styles. Your nights can be spent bar-hopping and dancing to jazz and ‘bounce’ music along Bourbon Street in the French Quarter – New Orleans’ oldest neighbourhood and the much-loved heart of the city.
