5 days, 5 countries. Flight Centre is on the ground with Sunrise as they make live television history from September 14–18. Every day we will provide a behind-the-scenes look at what Kochie, Sam, Nat, Mark and Eddy get up to on their Round The World adventure.
Oh, Canada. With your delightfully attired Mounties, your marriage of maple and bacon, and your world-famous raging torrents. There's light at the end of the tunnel for the Sunrise crew, but on Day 4 of their journey around the world it's all about making a splash in Canada.
From the heart of the splash zone (and after finally catching up on some Zs), Kochie and the crew donned their best ponchos and felt the full force of Niagara Falls on board Hornblower Niagara Cruises.
A little Niagara cruise trivia courtesy of Chris McRae on our Facebook page: the Maid of the Mist cruises departing from the USA side of the falls have their guests don blue raincoats, while those riding the Hornblower boats on the Canada side wear red. Thanks for the fun fact Chris!
Style icons! @kochie_online and I all dressed up for Niagara Falls. Almost calls for a caption competition?! A photo posted by Mark Beretta (@markberetta) on
It was an absolutely glorious day at Niagara Falls, Ontario. A site that has inspired countless proposals is bound to stir up some deep feelings; for Kochie and Sam, this meant channelling their inner Jack and Rose. Sorry Kochie, but Leo will always be the true king of the world.
Turns out bearing witness to one of the 7 Wonders of the Natural World is hungry work. After a scenic chopper ride above the falls and back on dry land, Canadian Ice Wine, maple syrup tarts and bacon maple doughnuts were consumed en masse.
Just... one... more... BACON DOUGHNUT #SunriseCanada pic.twitter.com/jC7XZcrkXi — Sunrise (@sunriseon7) September 16, 2015
Eddy, meanwhile, has spent the past 24 hours eating her way around Vancouver (we salute her gallant effort), in between kayaking and sizing up the 'grizzly' locals. I guess you could call her... an Eddy-bear #sorrynotsorry.
That’s a wrap! Cancun tomorrow… #sun7 #SunriseCanada #SunriseMexico pic.twitter.com/Sh3PC0ZJrN — Sunrise (@sunriseon7) September 16, 2015
Catch Sunrise tomorrow when the champagne (or tequila, more likely) will flow freely and the team will finally have a chance to catch their breath, soak up some Vitamin D, and reminisce about a whirlwind week.
Tune into Channel 7 tomorrow from 6am when Sunrise broadcast live from Cancun. Don't forget to suggest what our roving reporters should do along the way!
