Tuggerah-based consultant Rachael Byles recently flew across the Pacific so that she could explore the City of Angels. She stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel, a fantastic accommodation option for couples and families in the heart of Hollywood. By staying at this property, she was granted access to the exclusive Magic Castle Club. Highlights from her trip include taking a bike tour along the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach, wandering through Universal Studios and checking out the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Changing Faces Of Universal Studios

"If you talk to any one who travelled here, they all experienced different rides and attractions. This is what I love this! Universal Studios always has something new for you to explore. This is The Simpsons Rollercoaster - the scariest ride in the entire place," said Rachael.

Mr Depp and I

"You go to Hollywood expecting to get a photo with a celebrity to pin on your wall back home, but this was enough excitement for me. Across the road from the Chinese Theatre, in the packed street, I made sure I could get the clearest shot of Johnny and I," said Rachael.

My Hero

"One of my idols of course! Everyone's hero! He loved my hair, told me it was 'prime coloured' we had such a great laugh about it! I told him he has to try the new transformers ride at Universal Studios - it was incredible,” said Rachael.

War of the Worlds

"It was very strange, we drove from one film set to another, but when we stopped here, it was as if a disaster had just struck, everything looked so convincing even now years after the movie was filmed," said Rachael.

Santa Monica

"It all felt very nostalgic. I had been here before in every movie and television show I had ever watched which featured California," said Rachael.

From the Ferris Wheel, Santa Monica

"For every one else at the Pier it was just a weekend as normal, but riding the Ferris Wheel was amazing. I could see all the way down to Venice Beach," said Rachael.
