Etihad is known for going above and beyond when it comes to providing a uniquely luxurious experience in the skies, but this premium airline also offers some pretty fantastic perks on the ground when you fly First or Business Class.

Luxury lovers are probably all too familiar with the luxe Etihad lounges available at select international terminals, allowing passengers to partake in a few little luxuries before taking off. This includes Sydney and Melbourne. You've probably even heard of the chauffeur service, picking up and dropping off First and Business Class passengers in select locations around the globe. But did you know that Etihad also invites First and Business Class passengers to enjoy a complimentary stopover stay when flying to Abu Dhabi or beyond?

It's the perfect opportunity to extend your holiday and experience the vibrant culture of the United Arab Emirates. Offering something for all travellers, this city is all about over-the-top luxury. Pamper yourself to your heart's content at the Emirates Palace Spa, or find your spirit for adventure on Yas Island.  Alternatively, tap into your cultural side with a trip to the iconic Shikh Zayed Grand Mosque, or simply sit back for some people watching at the city's famous Corniche.

Of course, if you feel like escaping the city all together, the shimmering cityscape of Dubai is a mere hour's drive. Transfers are available between both cities, making it even easier to expand your travel plans. And, with Dubai in the mix, your stopover is sure to be packed with adventure.

The City of Gold is known for its over-the-top approach to everything. Continually striving for the biggest and the best, there is no shortage of things to see and do. Even if you've been before! The city is always adding on, ensuring new experiences await every time you visit.

The Dubai skyline at sunset

Keep your eyes on the skyline in search of the famous 'sail' of the Burj Al Arab (the world's only seven-star hotel) and the towering heights of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest hotel (a ticket to the observation deck is recommended if you're not adverse to heights). Don't forget to get your shop on at one of the city's many malls. Even if you don't feel like splashing out on any of the designer duds, there are experiences to be had. For example, the Mall of Emirates has it's very own indoor ski slope complete with real snow.

For those looking for a more leisurely day in Dubai, there is plenty to choose from. Stroll Al Dhiyafah Road to sample the eateries lining the sidewalks; navigate the narrow alleys of the Bastakia Quarter for a view of traditional Dubai or veg out at one of the many premium spas peppering the famous Palm Jumeirah.

It doesn't matter how you spend your time, it's a chance to start or finish your holiday with a little something extra. For more information on adding a premium stopover to your next Eithad flight, or to book your First or Business Class seat, contact our luxury Travel Experts on 1300 038 785.
