New Virgin Australia Baggage Allowance - What You Need To Know

27 March 2015
Read Time: 1.7 mins

Virgin Australia has removed the 'Saver Lite' fare class and dropped checked-in baggage charges for its economy cabin passengers effective March 17.

The airline has consolidated its fare types to just three; Saver, Flexi and Business - which all have a minimum 23kg baggage allowance included.

All tickets booked  post 17 March will have checked baggage included in the fare. All tickets booked prior to 17 March will still be required to pay for baggage according to the previous charge system in accordance with the specific fare type.

A Virgin spokesperson confirmed the change was due to strong customer feedback.
