It's the first day of spring and Brisbane certainly knows how to celebrate a change in season! The sun is shining and it's a comfortable 22 degrees right now, so how fitting it is that Flight Centre has a new agreement to boost tourism to the Sunshine State.
The beaches may be a little more crowded come summer, thanks to a new commercial agreement to highlight the unique offerings of the Queensland tourism industry.
Flight Centre has just announced a new commercial partnership agreement with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) to promote Queensland to global holidaymakers in a $6million deal over the next three years.
Flight Centre currently profiles more Queensland tourism operators than any other travel retailer. This new partnership with TEQ is set to increase the exposure of the state's destinations and travel products like never before.
The agreement will see Flight Centre showcase all things Queensland to a worldwide audience of potential travellers, including unprecedented access to local tour operators, hotels and other unique Queensland holiday offerings.
Flight Centre Travel Group’s Managing Director Graham "Skroo" Turner says the agreement represents a year-round approach to marketing Queensland.
“It’s a major destination for our customers in Australia and abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, so we welcome the opportunity to strengthen our offering,” says Mr Turner.
“We expect to see the Queensland tourism market grow substantially over the next few years as we gear up for major events such as the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.”
With September school holidays and Christmas just around the corner, sunny Queensland is certainly calling!
