For The Luxury Lover

.........................................................................................................................................................

Travelling first class was always considered reserved for the super wealthy, the uber famous and the elite few. However, in today's golden age of travel it has never been cheaper or more accessible.

In fact, first-class cabins seem to be making room for the ultra-luxurious first-class suites as airlines look for new and exciting ways to entice travellers.

The Residence

Etihad Airways' latest luxury offering, The Residence, looks more like a small apartment than an airline seat. This latest incarnation is a step up from First Class and has taken in-flight service to a level that was never feasible five or 10 years ago.

 The Residence: Height of luxury

The Residence is available exclusively on the airline’s new A380, which is due to fly between Sydney and Abu Dhabi and beyond, including daily flights to London Heathrow.

The Residence is made up of three distinct rooms: a living room, ensuite bathroom and bedroom. The living room includes a double-seat sofa with ottoman, two dining tables, a chilled drinks cabinet and 32-inch flat-screen TV.

The ensuite bathroom includes personal bathrobes, exclusive amenities, and a private shower. Finally, the bedroom features a double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and choice of pillows.

 Etihad leaves nothing to chance

Designed for up to two guests travelling together, The Residence has been created by leading interior designers and hospitality experts for the ultimate luxury traveller.

Etihad has not rested on the laurels provided by the design of its amazing seating space. The airline also offers incredible service delivery through the addition to the package of concierges, Savoy-trained butlers and highly qualified personal chefs.

First Apartments

Although there is only one Residence on each A380, exclusive luxury is still available with Etihad’s First Apartments. Upholstered with fine Italian leather by Poltrona Frau, the First Apartment features a large enough living space for you to walk around.

Uncompromising first class

It also fits an oversized armchair, ottoman, wardrobe, 24-inch TV, vanity cabinet, chilled drinks cabinet and room for two people to dine together. If you are travelling with a companion, wall dividers can be lowered to join the rooms. This is pure luxury in the sky, exclusive to the Etihad Airways A380 experience.

Why Etihad Airways is great for the lover of luxury

  • The Residence VIP Travel Concierge Service takes care of all your travel arrangements, such as chauffeur pick up and drop off, from the moment of reservation.
  • The Etihad butler is on hand to ensure all personal service needs are met as part of the inflight and post-flight itinerary.
  • The inflight chef is available to prepare meals from a range of gourmet menu options or create your favourite dish on request.
