The Outback Floatplanes' Ultimate Tour packs a week of adventures into an adrenalin filled half-day. Departing from Darwin, the tour includes a scenic flight, luxury cruise, helicopter ride, off-road buggy trip and, for even more an excitement, a glide through the waters and wetlands on an air-boat. Yes, all that in one half-day!
First on the jam-packed itinerary is a 30-minute scenic flight from Darwin. As well as scoping spectacular views of Darwin Harbour, the plane ride includes extravagant water landing to get you in the perfect mood for the exciting activities ahead.
Once you reach the remote lagoon location, you then board the ‘Cyclone Creek’ cruise ship for a hearty breakfast or lunch. Accompanying your meal (in the water, not on your plate) are various indigenous wildlife including turtles, barramundi and saltwater crocodiles.
There's a reason they call it the 'Ultimate' Tour
To many, this probably sounds like enough of a day out but this is, of course, the Ultimate Tour! After a snack, it’s on to a helicopter to catch a birds-eye view of Litchfield National Park. When you touch down, an off-road buggy is waiting to take you through the ancient rainforest, learning traditional bush secrets and getting even closer to crocodiles.
To cap off a memorable day of activities, take a ride in a retro-futuristic airboat, zooming in and out of rainforest channels at top speed.
After the ride, it will definitely be time to chill out. Although swimming in the same waters as crocodiles might not sound relaxing, rest assured that the pool on board the ‘Cyclone Creek’ is 100% croc-proof!
