While most of our trips have large groups, the Detour trips are all about small group travel with 16 travellers (or even fewer on some itineraries!).

London: In classic Contiki style, your accommodation and transport are included in the trip.
Plus, we’ll sort out some meals and activities that are outlined in the itinerary.
That’s not all, though.
You’ll also have an expert Local Host to give you an inside scoop at every destination.
London: All you have to do is check whether you need a visa (and apply for one if you do!), book your insurance and arrange your transport to the start location of the trip.
We’ll handle the rest!London: Our Detour trips are short & sweet (and loaded with fun activities).
That’s why we don’t offer pre or post trip accommodation.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: You’ll need a moderate level of fitness for this trip since you’ll be hiking, biking and rafting.
You’ll also need to be able to swim if you wanna participate in white-water rafting.
There will be 1 course in the morning and 1 in the afternoon (between grade 2 & 3).
Both the courses are beginner friendly.
The bike ride on Day 3 is about 25 kms long, through valleys and some steep ascents.
But you can always take it at your own pace.
Paragliding has a 115kg (255 lbs) weight limit, but it’s not physically strenuous.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: Yes.
For your own safety, you must be able to swim to take part in the rafting on this trip (which is where we will spend most of Day 2).
Bucharest: Your Trip Manager will endeavour to cater for specific dietary requirements where possible.
Vegetarianism, lactose intolerance, and gluten intolerance will be catered for in most instances.
There are, however, some meals and activities that are fixed in advance and therefore cannot be modified to suit dietary requirements.
Please use My Contiki to notify us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
For those suffering from particular food allergies, your Trip Manager will endeavour to disclose to their fullest knowledge the main ingredients in the dishes being consumed.
It is, however, your personal responsibility to ensure that you do not ingest any foods to which you are allergic.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: The alps are an incredible mountain range stretching across 8 Alpine countries: Monaco, France, Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, and Slovenia.

Hopfgarten im Brixental: Enjoy a home cooked dinner, prepared fresh on site by our in house Kitchen Team.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: Mountain Views? Check! We'll end the day with a sunset hike.
Tyrol: Time for action in the Tyrol's monumental mountains! Have a blast on the River Inn's rapids in an adrenaline-pumping ride.
Follow the river's surging course under the watch of professional Local Guides.
Don't worry: if you can swim, you're in – & before you hit the alpine waters, you'll be fully kitted out with wetsuits & safety helmets.
Innsbruck: We'll swing by Innsbruck for dinner en route home, a laid-back student city made famous by a medieval old town, an old Olympic Ski Jump & a Royal Palace.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: Jump on a bike & head out for a fully guided tour through picture-perfect Austrian mountain scenery.
In a region that is all about the outdoors, this is the perfect way to take in the fresh alpine air, waterfalls, mountain streams & meadows.
Once you've worked up an appetite, there's a BBQ lunch of Austrian wurst & kraut salad to finish.
Hopfgarten im Brixental: A member of the team will provide a departure transfer from Schoneck to Worgl Train Station.

Itinerary

Day 1 Hello there and welcome to the Alps! We'll pick you up at Worgl Train Station (included transfer, baby!) and once we've all set down our bags at Contiki Haus Sch?neck, we'll kick off the trip officially with a welcome meeting conducted by your Trip Manager. After that, we'll tuck into an included dinner - made fresh on-site with local ingredients. After dinner, we'll head off for a gentle sunset hike to mark the start of our adventure.

Day 2 We'll start early this morning as we treat ourselves to more of the alps. Next stop? Haiming... Here in Haiming, you'll have the chance to experience heart-pounding action with some white water rafting. After an included picnic lunch, we'll head back to the water for a second round of white water rafting - this time, on a slightly harder route. By the end of the day, you'll be a total pro. Next up, we'll make our way to Innsbruck, where you'll have some free time to explore the city and grab a bite to eat. Back in Haus Sch?neck, you'll have plenty of things to dream about tonight...

Day 3 After conquering the village trails, it's time to explore Hopfgarten and beyond in a different way; this time on 2 wheels. Join us for a locally guided bike tour through the vibrant green trails, before cruising downhill for a well-earned BBQ lunch. Fancy one last adrenaline hit? You can opt for some tandem paragliding today, soaring over the alps for some peerless panoramas. Tonight, you can choose to join us for a farewell authentic Austrian dinner at a local restaurant. Pork knuckle, anyone?

Day 4 Whether you take our complimentary transfer to Worgl or make your own way to your next destination, it's time to say goodbye to your new friends and Hopfgarten (which feels like a home away from home now, right?) Don't worry though, once you've swapped contact deets with your new Contiki crew, there's bound to be a new adventure on the horizon soon.
