Attracting around 150,000 people, the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts or just Glastonbury is the major music event on the British calendar. First held in 1970 as a celebration of liberty, today the festival attracts the biggest names in entertainment. Recently U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé headlined.
The event is held in the west of England near Pilton in Somerset on the last weekend in June. Most revellers choose to camp, however caravan and trailer tents are permitted just outside the boundary fence.
