As Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world, flying is by far the easiest way to get there but a relaxing and luxurious (if you travel in a sleeper cabin) alternative is to take the four-day Indian Pacific train from Sydney (or two-night, three-day trip from Adelaide) and see the Nullarbor Plain and some of the legendary Aussie outback along the way.
