See the iconic Cascade Brewery before continuing to historic Battery Point, rich in colonial charm. Wrap up the tour at the lush Botanical Gardens, showcasing Tasmania’s native flora in a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. Then, dive into the vibrant Salamanca Market, a lively snapshot of Tasmania’s creativity, featuring artisan goods, fresh produce, and handcrafted treasures. Grab a coffee and wander through 300 stalls, set against historic sandstone warehouses.
Day 3
Today's journey is a stunning contrast of landscapes, offering moments of tranquillity and awe-inspiring beauty. Breathe deeply as you wander through the lush forest of Mt. Field National Park, where the cascading tiers of Russell Falls create a misty, dreamlike setting. Find peace at the reflective waters of Lake St. Clair, Australia’s deepest natural lake. Travel through the World Heritage-listed Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park before arriving in Strahan, a serene coastal town on the island’s wild West Coast. Here, take in the vast expanse of Macquarie Harbour—an incredible seven times larger than Sydney Harbour.
Day 4
A cruise day is always a great day, especially when you drift across the glassy waters of Tasmania’s secluded Gordon River, surrounded by ancient, towering rainforests. Glide through this untouched wilderness, soaking up the tranquillity as you journey toward Sarah Island, Tasmania’s oldest convict settlement. Once a place of hardship, its haunting ruins have now been overtaken by nature, draped in forest and winding vines. Later, continue your adventure toward the vast Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, passing through tiny mining towns nestled in rugged, mountainous terrain. Take time to unwind—tomorrow, Cradle Mountain’s breathtaking landscapes await.
Day 5
Immerse yourself in the breathtaking wilderness of Cradle Mountain, a jewel of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Towering snow-capped peaks, moss-laden rainforests, and glacial lakes define this stunning landscape. Visit Dove Lake, where Bennetts wallabies, echidnas, and pademelons roam freely. Stop by Waldheim Chalet, once home to Gustav and Kate Weindorfer, whose dedication helped preserve this natural wonder. This afternoon, choose your adventure—hike scenic trails, meet a Tasmanian Devil (own expense), or simply unwind by the fire at your hotel, soaking in the beauty and tranquillity of Tasmania’s untamed wilderness. The day is yours to enjoy.
Day 6
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before departing the Central Highlands for Tasmania’s stunning north-west coast, where fertile volcanic soil nurtures over 100 varieties of potatoes, accounting for nearly a third of Australia’s total potato production. Arrive in the quaint township of Penguin and visit Mount Gnomon Farm, where farmer Guy Robertson passionately cultivates his orchard and crafts cider. Savour a paddock-to-plate lunch highlighting the region’s finest flavours. Later, continue to Sheffield, the renowned ‘Town of Murals,’ then journey through the picturesque Meander Valley, arriving in Launceston, ready for further exploration.
Day 7
Tasmania’s reputation for world-class food is no surprise, thanks to its pristine air, pure water, and fertile soil. Begin your day at the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company, sampling a delectable array of sauces, jams, mustards, and relishes while discovering the region’s fresh, homegrown ingredients. Then, experience the natural beauty of Cataract Gorge, an enchanting mix of rugged bushland and elegant Victorian gardens, all within walking distance of the city centre. The afternoon is yours; explore the Beaconsfield Mine, discover marine wonders at Seahorse World, cruise the Tamar Valley (all own expense), or stay local and immerse yourself in Launceston’s stunning heritage architecture. The choice is yours!
Day 8
Before you even step foot onto Bridestowe Estate, its soothing lavender aromas will greet you. This picturesque farm offers indulgent flavours—from lavender-infused ice cream to golden honey harvested by half a million bees that thrive among the vibrant floral fields. Next, visit the Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, an awe-inspiring tribute to fallen WWI soldiers, where intricate sculptures bring history to life. It’s a humbling reminder of the beauty and freedom we cherish today. As night falls, don’t miss the chance to spot little penguins in Bicheno, watching them waddle ashore in their natural coastal habitat—a truly unforgettable experience.
Day 9
It’s no wonder Tasmania’s east coast is renowned for its postcard-perfect beaches. The deep blue ocean accompanies you through Cape Tourville’s untouched eucalypt forests, revealing dramatic coastal views stretching to the horizon. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Freycinet Peninsula on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience, supporting local wildlife conservation. Glide past rugged granite peaks, striking pink cliffs of the Hazards range, and secluded beaches lined with dense bushland. As you take in the serenity of Wineglass Bay, savour a delicious Ploughman’s lunch on board, perfectly paired with the spectacular scenery surrounding you.
Day 10
Begin your day on the tranquil shores of the Derwent River, where local palawa will warmly welcome you to country, sharing traditions and native bush tucker. Then, step back in time in Richmond, home to Australia’s oldest convict-built gaol and bridge. Explore charming boutique shops or visit Old Hobart Town, an award-winning model village recreating 1820s Hobart (own expense). Tonight, retreat to Iron Creek Bay Estate, surrounded by 70 hectares of orchards bursting with cherries, apricots, apples, and grapes. Wander the grounds, pick some fruit and say hi to some of the resident geese, alpacas, and sheep, before unwinding with a sunset and locally inspired feast at the farm’s celebrated restaurant.
Day 11
Though the World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site holds a sombre past, today it’s surrounded by rolling green fields and breathtaking water views. Discover its fascinating history on a guided tour, where expert storytellers unveil its many secrets. Cruise around the Isle of the Dead, take in rugged sea cliffs from Pirate’s Bay Lookout, and marvel at natural wonders like Tasman’s Arch, Devil’s Kitchen, and the Blowhole. This evening, enjoy Hobart at your leisure. Whether you're after fine dining or cozy wine bars, Tasmania’s cool little capital has an abundance of options to make your night truly special.
Day 12
Tasmania’s capital has a way of inviting you to slow down and soak in its charm. Whether it’s the serene waterfront, vibrant art-filled streets, or the majestic mountain backdrop, you’ll ease into the relaxed rhythm of Hobart. Spend the day as you wish—perhaps embark on a Bruny Island Cruise to see playful fur seals and towering sea cliffs or take to the skies for a scenic flight over the wild Southwest. Take a walking tour through the city’s historic streets, explore the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery (all own expense), or simply unwind. This evening, gather with your travel mates for a celebratory dinner at one of Hobart’s standout waterfront restaurants.
Day 13
Two weeks of incredible sights, flavours, and adventures - if you can still count them all, you’ve truly made the most of your journey. Now, it’s time to take those unforgettable memories home, sharing laughter, stories, and favourite moments with loved ones. Until next time, Tasmania!
