Highlights
2 Dinner (D)7 Breakfast (B)Phuket: What are Free Time Add-Ons and can I pay on credit card? Free Time Add-Ons are special activities Contiki organizes in addition to the trip. They aren’t mandatory (but we do highly recommend them!) and can be done during your free time. Payment for Free Time Add-Ons can only be made in cash, using the local currency - Thai Baht. You can check out the prices on the trip page of the website. Payment will generally be collected on night one after kickstart. Please note: Contiki FTAs may vary due to seasonal conditions & often require minimum guest participation to operate. FTA prices are preferential & are subject to change without notice.Phuket: When should flights be booked from Phuket on the last day of the trip? We’ll aim for you to arrive back in Phuket by early afternoon on the final day. Just one catch - Thai traffic is notoriously slow, so this is dependent on traffic conditions. So, we recommend that you book flights only after 14:30 on the final day. Booked a flight before that? You’ll have to organize your own transfer back to Phuket. Let your Trip Manager know on Day 1 so they can help you out.Phuket: Can a passenger get a transfer from Sawaddi Patong to the airport later? Yep, you can book private taxis through the reception of Sawaddi Patong Resort or use taxi apps. It’ll cost approx. 850 Baht & will take around 1 hour.Phuket: Where does the transfer back to Phuket end up? You can choose to have the van take you to the Start hotel – Sawaddi Patong Resort. Or directly to Phuket airport. Just let your Trip Manager know!Phuket: What should I pack for this trip? Other than all the standard stuff like jeans, trousers, jumpers and t-shirts, here are some things you should consider packing:  • Rainproof jacket • Comfy walking shoes & sandals  • Swimwear & towels  • Personal medication & motion sickness tablets  • Travel adaptors  • Insect repellent and sunscreen • Smart casual clothing for high-end restaurants or night clubs in PhuketPhuket: Are there any luggage restrictions for this trip? On our trips, you can bring one bag or suitcase of 73cm x 50cm x 25cm (29” x 20” x 10”), with a max weight of 20kg (44lbs). Please note you’ll be responsible for getting your luggage on and off the public ferries at each island.Phuket: What is the currency used in Thailand? Thailand uses the Baht. (No USD accepted here!). ATMs & Cash Machines are usually readily available in Thailand.Phuket: What is the voltage in Thailand? Thailand has 220V, 50Hz electricity. Wall outlets are usually the round, 2-pin type, although some fit two flat blades. So don’t forget your adapters!Phuket: What are the local customs in Thailand? The locals in Thailand are generally very friendly and are quite used to tourists. But there are some things you should keep in mind while travelling in Thailand: Revealing clothing worn off the beach is usually considered culturally insensitive. Shorts are generally fine (as long as they aren’t too short). Smoking is common in Thailand, and most restaurants & bars will have a smoking zone.  Public displays of affection between men & women are considered shocking in some places. On the other hand, it’s perfectly normal for a pair of men or a pair of women to link arms or hold hands. Try to learn some of the local language – but remember there are often many different dialects to choose from! Your Trip Manager or Local Guide can give you some tips on words you can try.Phuket: Can I buy a SIM card in Thailand? You can buy a SIM card or a handset at any mobile phone shop and some convenience stores. ‘Top up’ credit vouchers are available at most phone shops, local post offices or at the airport for around US$10-15. Most areas have 4G coverage, but major cities will have 5G.Phuket: What is the tipping culture in Thailand? Tipping is quite common in all areas of the service industry in Thailand. So, feel free to leave a tip if you love the service – even your Contiki Team!Phuket: Enjoy and learn about Thai flavours, yum!Phuket: Welcome to the bright lights of Phuket. Grab yourself a beer, as this is the ultimate haven for nightlife.Phi Phi Islands: Kick back with your new Contiki fam at Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint – feeling like you’ve just won the lottery of life.Krabi: Fill your plate with spicy Thai food, grab a Singha beer and admire the famous view with 20 of your new BFFs.
Day 1
8 days of exotic lands and those much hyped perfect Thai beaches sit ahead of us. The high-on-life vibes will be inevitable as we join forces in Phuket, start getting acquainted and allow ourselves to start slipping into island time. Hotel hangs and pool time will be high on the agenda.
Day 2
Well good morning explorers, it's your first full day so time to get movin' and shakin'. Choose to spend some of the day with rescued elephants at the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary or if you'd rather, take to Phuket Town and admire the Chinese influenced local architecture - swing high or lay low, the choice is entirely yours. The bright lights and wild antics of Bangla Road can take things up a notch this evening!
Day 3
It's day three and 'mai pen rai - don't worry, be happy' is now pretty much the group mentality. Enjoy a lazy breakfast and catch some rays before we hit the Andaman Sea in search of one very famous beach... Arriving in Koh Phi Phi will leave you in a daze of love and happiness. More scenic than your wildest dreams, this island is home for the next few days. Glorious long salty days, balmy nights and endless ocean explorations are calling. Dine on the herb-filled rice salad with grated coconut that is khao yam, watch the sunset from Koh Phi Phi's highest vantage point, or stroll postcard beaches alongside playful monkeys. Definitely an evening you won't be forgetting in a hurry.
Day 4
The island is your playground and the day is yours to do whatever your heart desires. We're recommending our Day on the Bay Free Time Add-On - the perfect mix of island hopping, swimming and chillaxing. Afterwards, squeeze in one last beachside stroll with the flickering island lights as your backdrop, soaking up the island sounds and Pad Thai smells... this is what we call living.
Day 5
Although we're leaving Koh Phi Phi and heading to mainland Thailand today, our sun-kissed spirit won't change a bit. The exotic paradise of Krabi is calling our names, and who are we to resist… This afternoon we'll soak in the small town feels of Ao Nang, then enjoy an included dinner with the crew tonight.
Day 6
Back on the Thai mainland we'll take in the island vistas from the charming setting of Krabi. Today you can opt for a speed boat cruise of Phang Nga Bay to see the famous James Bond Island. Local markets, cheap massages & sunset cocktails can reward us from our adventurous day out.
Day 7
Rise and shine, you have a full free day to make the most of everything Krabi has to offer! Maybe chillax on Railay beach or take advantage of the optional rock climbing activity. Tonight, you're free to grab your crew for a sunset dinner and end the trip in style.
Day 8
After one final morning in paradise it's back on the coach to Phuket where our adventure comes to an end. Have one final goodbye with your travel fam, then take our transfer either to the airport or back to our start hotel. Note: The Phuket Town Street Food Tour takes places on the last day (after the trip ends), finishing in Phuket Town around 5pm. You can choose to take part if you're staying in Phuket on this day/night. And afterwards, you can also choose to catch a transfer to the airport, or back to the hotel in Patong.
