For Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone, your Captain's Package must be booked and paid for in full at the time of paying your initial deposit for your Captain’s Package fare. Captain's Packages cannot be added to a fare or upgraded to another Captain’s Package after you have paid your deposit or once your fare has been ticketed. Please contact your travel consultant for any Captain’s Package Price Drop Protection enquiries or claims on Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone.

The Terms and Conditions set out on this webpage apply to all in-store and over-the-phone purchases of Captain’s Packages. This offer is not available from or able to be booked by Flight Centre Independent travel consultants as they operate independent businesses.

1 & 2. Waive Flight Centre’s Change and Cancellation Fees

Captain’s Packages with this feature will waive either the Change and/or Cancellation Fees normally charged by Flight Centre Australia. Supplier Fees may apply.

Our change and cancellation fees

Subject to your refund and remedy rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the following change and cancellation fees apply to all bookings (including online bookings and bookings made with a consultant):

  • Changes to Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings will incur a fee of $30 per booking in addition to travel service provider fees.

  • Changes to International bookings (excluding Trans-Tasman bookings) will incur a fee of $75 per booking in addition to travel service provider fees.

  • Cancellations of Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings will incur a fee of $50 per person (capped at $100 per booking) in addition to travel service provider fees.

  • Cancellations of International bookings (excluding Trans-Tasman bookings) will incur a fee of $300 per person (capped at $600 per booking) in addition to travel service provider fees.

Supplier change and cancellation fees

Cancelled bookings may also incur supplier fees, which can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Supplier fees may also apply where a booking is changed and when tickets or documents are re-issued. Where we incur any liability for a supplier fee for any booking which you change or cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee. Where you seek a refund for a cancelled booking for which payment has been made to the supplier, we will not provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from that supplier.

3. 24/7 Priority Assistance

Captain’s Packages with this feature will receive a priority phone number for all calls to 24/7 Global Assistance. If there is a hold, you will jump the queue and therefore your waiting time for Global Assistance will be reduced.

4. Price Drop Protection™

Price Drop Protection only applies to airfares (not accommodation, other travel or to holiday packages) purchased in conjunction with a Captain’s Value (up to $50pp) & Captain’s Plus (up to the difference) Package, and it may only be claimed once. Price Drop Protection only applies to genuine fares from airlines and from Flight Centre & www.flightcentre.com (but excludes Flight Centre's associated brands and entities BYOjet.com & AuntBetty.com), for travel that originates/departs from Australia. Fare must be in writing and presented to us on the same day as it was advertised. Fare must be for the same form of payment and must be available, able to be booked by the general public when you bring it to us and be for the same dates, airline, number of passengers, booking classes and flight numbers. The written fare must show the date it was advertised and the final price including all applicable fees and charges (including booking/service fees and all charges for the form of payment chosen). Fares available due to membership of a group or corporate entity or subscription to a closed group or fares discounted due to a government subsidy or scheme are excluded. Should the fare be less than your original Captain’s Value Package fare we will issue a Flight Centre voucher to you for up to $50pp or should the fare be less than your original Captain’s Plus Package we will issue a Flight Centre Voucher for the value of the difference. Price Drop Protection only applies to your domestic flight within Australia or your international flight departing Australia. Flight Centre’s standard Gift Card Terms and Conditions will apply to the voucher, but it will be valid for 12 months only from date of issue. If you wish to make a claim for Price Drop Protection prior to full payment for your fare, you must pay for your fare in full at the time of making your Price Drop Protection claim.

If you cancel the original Captain's Package purchased and submit the airfare for a refund (if applicable) and your Price Drop Protection voucher has not been redeemed, the voucher will be voided, and you will be refunded the full value of the original airfare purchased less the applicable airline cancellation fees. If your Price Drop Protection voucher has been redeemed, the value of the voucher will be deducted from the refund due on the original airfare in addition to the airline’s cancellation fee.

If you cancel the original Captain’s Package and the airline has provided you a credit for the airfare, the value of your Captain’s Package will be held in credit.

For Captain's Packages held in credit, any future Price Drop Protection claims will be assessed based on the value of the flights at the time of rebooking, not the original value of the cancelled fare. The new value to be assessed against will be cited on your invoice at the time of re-booking. Should the price of your Captain’s Package Value or Plus fare fall below your purchase price, prior to your departure date, we will give you either up to $50pp on the Value Package or the difference on the Plus Package by issuing a Flight Centre voucher.

Fare must be for the same form of payment as you have paid or will pay Flight Centre (e.g. cash, credit card). The Terms and Conditions set out on this webpage apply to all in-store, over-the-phone and online purchases of Captain’s Packages. This offer is not available from or able to be booked by Flight Centre Independent travel consultants as they operate independent businesses. Note that Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone have some features which (due to the nature of transacting online) cannot be or are not made available to Captain’s Packages purchased online, or which will require you to contact Flight Centre in-store or by phone in order to access the inclusion (for example, Visa and Passport checks will require you to contact Flight Centre by phone for the check to be completed). Where a feature of Captain’s Packages is not available for an online purchase (or not available to be used online), then it will be noted in the Terms and Conditions below.

1 24/7 Global Assistance and Visa & Passport check
All Captain’s Packages are eligible to use Flight Centre’s 24/7 Global Assistance. Our call centre is accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, from anywhere in the world. If you have purchased a Captain’s Package in-store or over-the-phone, then your Flight Centre consultant will provide expert visa and passport advice for any international travel. If you have purchased a Captain’s Package online in addition to international travel, then we will email you shortly after your purchase to offer to provide you with expert visa and passport advice. All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return and some countries require a machine-readable passport. For international travel bookings, you must let us know if you have less than six months validity on your passport or if you do not have a machine-readable passport. When assisting with an international travel booking, your Flight Centre consultant will assume that all travellers on the booking have a valid Australian passport. If this is not the case, you must let us know. It is important that you ensure that you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. If you are travelling to the United States please see https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov for important information regarding compulsory pre-registration for their visa waiver program (“ESTA”). Australian passport holders will not be able to enter the United States without a valid ESTA (or visa). Please note, you may not meet the eligibility requirements of ESTA and may be required to obtain a visa. We urge you to apply for an ESTA prior to booking an airfare if you have any concerns about whether or not you might be eligible for an ESTA.

Price Drop Protection™
For Captain's Packages held in credit, any future Price Drop Protection claims will be assessed based on the value of the flights at the time of rebooking, not the original value of the cancelled fare. The new value to be assessed against will be cited on your invoice at the time of re-booking. Should the price of your Captain’s Package fare fall below your purchase price, prior to your departure date, we will give you the difference by issuing a Flight Centre voucher. Price Drop Protection only applies to airfares (not accommodation, other travel or to holiday packages) purchased in conjunction with a Captain’s Package, and may only be claimed once. Price Drop Protection only applies to genuine fares from airlines and from Flight Centre & www.flightcentre.com (but excludes Flight Centre's associated brands and entities BYOjet.com & AuntBetty.com), for travel that originates/departs from Australia. Should the fare be less than your original Captain’s Package fare we will issue a Flight Centre voucher to you for the value of the difference. The $19 advertised price is for Captain’s Essentials package which is valid for domestic travel within Australia; plus Short Haul travel to New Zealand from QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS & SA; and to Denpasar, Indonesia from WA, SA & NT. The Captain’s Value package is valid for all destinations worldwide, from $49. Captain's Package Terms & Conditions
Captain’s Packages can be purchased in-store or over-the-phone (‘offline’) and with ‘online’ purchases of airfares:
In-store and over-the-phone purchases

For Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone, your Captain's Package must be booked and paid for in full at the time of paying your initial deposit for your Captain’s Package fare. Captain's Packages cannot be added to a fare or upgraded to another Captain’s Package after you have paid your deposit or once your fare has been ticketed. Please contact your travel consultant for any Captain’s Package Price Drop Protection enquiries or claims on Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone.

Online purchases from our website, www.flightcentre.com.au

For Captain’s Packages Purchased online at www.flightcentre.com.au, your Captain's Package must be selected and paid for in full at the time of paying for your Captain’s Package fare. A Captain's Package cannot be added to a fare once the fare has been purchased online, or upgraded to another Captain’s Package after you have completed your transaction online. For any Captain’s Package or Price Drop Protection enquiries or claims on Captain’s Packages purchased online, customers should call Flight Centre’s Website Customer Support team on 1300 733 867.

The Terms and Conditions set out on this webpage apply to all in-store, over-the-phone and online purchases of Captain’s Packages.

Fares available due to membership of a group or corporate entity or subscription to a closed group are excluded. Should the fare be less than your original Captain’s Package fare we will issue a Flight Centre voucher to you for the value of the difference. Price Drop Protection only applies to your domestic flight within Australia or your international flight departing Australia. The Captain’s Premium package is valid for all Long Haul travel from Australia to South, Central and mainland America (excluding Hawaii), Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the UK. The price of Captain’s Packages for online purchases varies per destination.

Price Drop Protection - Why book anywhere else?
When it comes to cheap flights, we are so sure we will not be beaten on price that if you find an advertised available airfare from an airline or from Flight Centre for less than your original Captain’s Package fare we will issue a Flight Centre voucher to you for the difference in price.

How can I make a claim for Price Drop Protection?
Step 1: Bring us an advertised fare prior to your departure date

Your fare must be in writing and must relate to standard airfares available to the general public. Your genuine advertised fare must be presented to us on the same day as it was advertised and prior to your departure date. Travel must originate/depart from Australia. Price Drop Protection only applies to airfares (not accommodation, other travel or to holiday packages) purchased in conjunction with a Captain’s Package, and may only be claimed once. The fare must show the date it was advertised and show the final price including all fees and charges (including booking/service fees and all charges for the form of payment chosen). If your fare is from a website, it must show the final price payable at the final payment stage and must show all applicable fees and charges. Fare must be for the same form of payment as you have paid or will pay Flight Centre (e.g. cash, credit card). If you wish to make a claim for Price Drop Protection prior to full payment for your fare, you must pay for your fare in full at the time of making your Price Drop Protection claim.

Contacting us:

* For Price Drop Protection enquiries or claims on Captain’s Packages purchased in-store or over-the-phone - please contact your travel consultant who made your booking

* For Price Drop Protection enquiries or claims on Captain’s Packages purchased online – please call Flight Centre’s Website Customer Support team on 1300 733 867.

You can provide genuine advertised airfares from:

1. Flight Centre & www.flightcentre.com.au (but excludes Flight Centre's associated brands & entities BYOjet.com & AuntBetty.com); and

2. Airline's own fares/websites.

Step 2: Confirmation that the fare is genuine and available

We will then need to confirm that the fare is genuine, available and able to be booked by the general public when you present it to us. If it is, we will give you the difference back by providing you with a Flight Centre voucher. Flight Centre’s standard Gift Card Terms and Conditions will apply to the voucher, but it will be valid for 12 months only from date of issue.

If we reasonably believe your written fare contains an error in the pricing of the fare, or that the pricing, fare or booking class offered is no longer available to book on the same date, airline and flight number, for the same number of passengers, we may decline to provide you with the voucher for the difference in price.

Price Drop Protection Voucher
Limit of one voucher per booking. The voucher must be presented to a Flight Centre consultant at the time of booking to redeem this credit. The voucher is valid on new bookings only. Flight Centre’s standard Gift Card Terms and Conditions will apply to the voucher, but it will be valid for 12 months only from date of issue. The voucher may be redeemed in whole or part during the validity period. Where used in part, no change will be given; only the remaining balance left on the voucher. Any unused balance may be used against future purchases, but will not be refunded or credited when the voucher expires. The voucher cannot be redeemed for cash, traveller’s cheques, cash passports or any other form of currency nor used in conjunction with any other offer. Normal booking conditions apply. The voucher must be used in-store or over-the-phone and cannot be used for online purchases. Flight Centre reserves the right to deem the voucher void if it has reasonable grounds to believe that it has been tampered with or copied.
