Game of Throne's Day Tour

Did you know that Northern Ireland is the most important film location for Game of Thrones? Some of the most spectacular indoor sets in the history of television have been built for the show inside the 'Paint Hall' in Belfast, the largest studio space in the world. These sets include the Red Keep's Great Hall, with its Iron Throne, the Sept of Baelor, centre of religious worship for the Faith of the Seven and the impregnable holdfast known as the Eyrie, with its terrifying Moon Door. HBO considered no less than fourteen different countries before choosing Northern Ireland as the principal filming location for Thrones. We think they made an inspired choice. The NI sets, landscapes and castles all look fantastic on screen. Our coach tours go beyond driving and sightseeing. We take you on two long locations treks (4 miles of walking in total!). The morning trek is from Winterfell to one of Walder Frey's Twins, past Robb's Camp in the Riverlands and on to where Brienne confronted three Stark soldiers. The afternoon trek is into Tollymore Forest, to the bridge where the Starks found a dead direwolf and her pups. The most important visit is to Winterfell where an adventure sports company, based in the courtyard of Winterfell, offers Stark family cloaks, gambesons, peascods and LARP swords for those who wish to truly immerse themselves in the mood of the North. A cradle of civilisation, an epicentre of culture and a geopolitical giant; there’s not much you can’t say about Europe. It calls to travellers from far and wide with a list of diverse countries that each offer unique history, culture and experiences. With so much to see and do, this country lends itself well to guided tours with a plethora available, providing the perfect chance to uncover the best that Europe has to offer.

Don't miss these Europe attractions

  • Day trip to the Black Forest
  • Lucerne Lakes and the Top of Europe
  • Art tours in Paris
  • Multi-day excursions through Portugal
  • Shopping tours in Milan

Contrasting choices

It’s far from the world’s largest continent, but what Europe lacks in size it makes up for in sheer diversity. Indeed, one of the main advantages of travelling in Europe is the chance to experience a broad range of cultures in a short period of time, and often one of the best ways to do that is on a dedicated tour.

Explore the French capital Paris or take a walking tour of Berlin and soak up the history of a city fought over for centuries. Check out the canals of Amsterdam, cycle around beautiful Bruges, party in Prague and take a guided stroll around beachside Barcelona – your choice of European tour activities is practically endless.

Getting around

It’s not so much a question of where to go, but how to get around, when it comes to taking a tour in Europe. Sail the high seas in Croatia and appreciate some spectacular Adriatic scenery, hit the slopes on a ski tour of Switzerland, trundle around the vineyards of Tuscany on a guided wine tour or   spend some time soaking up the sunshine on the fabulous Greek isles.

Whether it’s a trip to Oktoberfest in Munich, a stop at the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, a Balkan trek through some of Europe’s most exotic destinations or a leisurely jaunt through the cafes of Vienna, many of the most popular activities in Europe are enhanced by enjoying them with an experienced tour guide at hand.
