2023 Major Prize Winner
Lucy Thomas (Co-Founder & CEO), PROJECT ROCKIT
“Winning the 2023 Corporate Travel Grant means the world to our team at PROJECT ROCKIT. Winning the grant has not only enabled us to reach more schools, but also given our team a huge vote of confidence and galvanised morale knowing that we have such strong advocates in Flight Centre Business Travel.
"Bullying and its associated mental health impacts are pervasive issues in Aussie communities, yet a majority of schools don't have access to evidence-based, youth-centred programming to tackle the issues presenting in their student cohort. It's excruciating to receive calls from schools who we're unable to help due to the costs of travelling out to reach them.
"Winning this grant literally means we can be the bearers of great news: "Yes we can help!". We've been able to reach schools all over Australia who otherwise would have completely missed out on joining the PROJECT ROCKIT workshops at their schools.”
Are you our next Corporate Travel Grant winner?
Flight Centre Business Travel is thrilled to announce the return of our annual Corporate Travel Grant - tailor-made to not only ignite immediate growth for your SME but also to lay the foundation for ongoing success.
Emily Bobis (Founding Director), Compass IoT
“Being a Corporate Travel Grant finalist meant we were able to take up a few more opportunities for travel, for more people in the team, more often. We were able to attend more interstate conferences and award events. Our lead designer was able to use part of the grant to attend the Women In Digital awards in Brisbane where she was a finalist for the UX leader of the year. We didn't have to think twice about how to budget for the trip because it was covered by the grant.
"And now, having a reliable travel management company has saved us countless hours trying to coordinate trips and multi-person bookings. It's removed the internal booking burden so that we have more time to focus on the things that move the needle for our customers.”
Lyndon Galea (Founder), Eat Up
“Being a 2023 Corporate Travel Grant finalist has been massive for our organisation, and our mission to feed hungry Aussie kids so they can learn, grow and succeed. Prior to the grant we’d have big opportunities to travel interstate - whether it be pitch competitions, meeting with a potential sponsor, or onboarding a new volunteer group - the cost would always be a big hurdle for us and often prevent us from taking these steps that ultimately help to grow our impact.
"Thanks to Flight Centre Business Travel, and Virgin Australia, we’ve been able to take those opportunities and the results that come with them! The Corporate Travel Grant has opened a lot of doors for our organisation - we were recently lucky to be awarded a Flight Centre Giving Grant for $15k.
"More broadly, the Corporate Travel Grant has allowed us to act as a bigger organisation - events that we previously would not have been able to send a team member interstate to because of cost, we’ve been able to take advantage of and the results that come with it. “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” as they say. In short, it’s accelerated our impact!”
