On a wharf in the heart of Auckland’s waterfront, the Hilton is in prime position for enjoying everything the harbour city has to offer. A stone’s throw from the central business district, and within walking distance of the viaduct’s varied bars and restaurants, the Hilton is a stylish option when you’re in town for business, or pleasure.

The Hotel

The Hilton is located in a nautical inspired building, which is fitting, for its location on the Princess Wharf, where the cruise ships dock when they roll into town. Situated at the far end of the wharf, closest to the water, the harbour views and décor feel fittingly similar that of a ship. To reach the lobby you’ll need to drive right to the end of the wharf, where there is valet parking available through the concierge.

Hilton is one of only a few hotel chains in Auckland with a rewards program, Hilton Honors, which is also appealing for frequent travellers to earn and use points on their stay.

The Rooms

The Hilton has numerous room types, ranging from standard guestrooms through to king suites. The standard guest rooms all include king beds or twins, floor to ceiling windows, a balcony, a 32-inch TV with on-demand movies, a spacious bathroom, work desk and lounge chair.

The deluxe harbour view rooms, where we stayed, enjoy sweeping views of the city and harbour from a spacious balcony, plus a large bathroom with full-size bath and separate shower. All of the amenities you would expect are there too, including plush bathrobes and slippers, a stocked minibar, WiFi and room service. The spacious room, with double couch, offers plenty of room for travellers needing to work, or unwind at the hotel too.

If you’re able to upgrade, the king suites offer luxury of a new level, with sweeping harbour views from their corner position in the hotel, and plenty of space to relax, in the living area, or on the balcony. All rooms have deluxe Crabtree and Evelyn bath amenities too.

The Amenities

As standard with most Hilton resorts, there are amenities here for every traveller. FISH restaurant serves a full buffet breakfast daily, before transforming into one of Auckland’s best seafood restaurants for lunch and dinner. While downstairs, the Bellini Bar serves up incredible cocktails with a backdrop of the Auckland skyline, making it a popular spot with both guests and locals.

To keep the body in check, there is an outdoor heated lap pool, a fitness room and jogging track onsite. While business amenities include everything you need from equipment rental and meeting rooms to phone, fax, printing and photocopying services.

The Activities

Hilton Auckland has an onsite tour desk, which offers guests a range of services, including city sight-seeing tours and excursions outside of the city, which makes staying for the weekend an easy option. For after work dining and socialising, the Hilton is within walking distance of the bars and restaurants around Auckland’s viaduct harbour and Britomart. The shopping district is also a few blocks walk away.
