Luxury hotel group, Spicers Retreats, has just announced its acquisition of Sangoma Retreat, a stunning boutique resort nestling the foothills of the Blue Mountains National Park.

While Sangoma enjoys a peaceful wilderness setting in the hamlet of Bowen Mountain, the eco-friendly resort is just 70 minutes’ drive from Sydney. Mr David Assef, Managing Director of Spicers Retreats, says that Sangoma is perfectly position for the ever increasing ‘weekend escape’ market.

The retreat’s blend of relaxed luxury and contemporary bushland splendour is certain to set tongues wagging when it officially opens under Spicers management on the 2nd January 2015.

Sangoma will shower guests with the kind of 5-star, authentic Australian hospitality expected from the world-class hotel brand.

Guests will have the choice of five suites, all fabulously appointed and set amongst giant boulders and towering gum trees. The retreat not only awards panoramic views of the wilderness and valley below, but the twinkling lights of Sydney city on the horizon as well.

Bistro-style dining crafted using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients will appeal to gourmands, and leisure seekers will love the sparkling plunge pool and spa facilities.

“Sangoma already carries many of the Spicers trademarks; a unique location, effortless service, an intimate atmosphere and world-class cuisine utilising regional produce. However, like other Spicers properties it has its own distinctive character, drawing on the natural rhythms of the bush,” says Mrs Jude Turner, founder of Spicers Retreats.

“We were absolutely thrilled when the owners approached us and had no hesitation in expanding our portfolio to include this outstanding and award winning luxury property,” adds Mrs Turner.

Sangoma is Spicers’ ninth incarnation across Queensland and New South Wales. The group’s latest project is Victoria Court, a historic hotel in Sydney’s Potts Point that is expected to re-open under the Spicers brand in 2016.
