Social Impact & Sustainability
Every trip your team takes has an environmental cost. But it also has the potential to create something positive. At Flight Centre Business Travel, social responsibility and sustainability aren't add-ons — they're built into how we operate. From planting native trees with every booking to supporting life-changing medical missions, here's how we're working to make business travel better for the planet and the communities that share it.
Reforest Partnership
Native tree planting integrated into every booking. One tree per trip as a starting point — scale up or tailor to your sustainability goals. Verified carbon removal and biodiversity outcomes.
1,500 Trees Every Month
Flight Centre Business Travel 's own commitment — independent of client programmes. We plant 1,500 trees every month, playing our part alongside our customers.
Volunteering
All Flight Centre employees receive dedicated additional leave for volunteering with Foundation partners or a community organisation of their choice — contributing time, skills and expertise.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Part of the Flight Centre Travel Group's broader commitment to responsible travel, conservation of natural resources, diversity and empowered giving.
Planting with Purpose - Reforest
At Flight Centre Business Travel, we believe every trip can do more than move people from A to B. Through our sustainability and ESG program, we help businesses measure, manage, and meaningfully reduce the environmental impact of their travel.
In partnership with Reforest, every client booking contributes to planting native trees that capture carbon, restore habitats, and support local communities across Australia and beyond. Businesses can track their impact in real time — from trees planted to land restored and CO₂ removed — giving them transparent data to share with stakeholders.
We also put our own commitment on the table, planting 1,500 trees every month independently of client programs. Because sustainability isn't just something we offer — it's something we practice.

Corporate Travel Grant
Flight Centre Business Travel's Corporate Travel Grant is an initiative designed to support the growth of small and medium enterprises by removing a key barrier to business development: the cost of travel. The major prize — a $30,000 grant covering flights, accommodation, and car hire — gives one SME the resources to pursue its next stage of growth, while four runners-up each receive $2,500 in travel credit.
Beyond the prize, the grant reflects Flight Centre Business Travel's broader philosophy of acting as a genuine partner to SMEs, not just a booking platform. By backing ambitious smaller businesses with meaningful, practical support, it creates real community impact — helping SMEs grow, create jobs, and contribute more broadly to the Australian economy.
Part of Something Bigger
Flight Centre Business Travel is part of the Flight Centre Travel Group — one of the world's largest travel companies — which has a formal corporate social responsibility platform built around four pillars: responsible travel, conservation of natural resources, diversity and inclusion, and empowered giving. When your business travels with us, it's backed by an organisation that takes its social and environmental responsibilities seriously at every level.

Frequently Asked Questions
Flight Centre Business Travel’s sustainability initiatives include a partnership with Reforest — a Brisbane-based social enterprise — to plant native trees through our clients' bookings, and Flight Centre Business Travel 's own commitment to planting 1,500 trees every month independently. We are also part of the Flight Centre Travel Group's broader Corporate Social Responsibility platform covering responsible travel, conservation of natural resources, diversity and empowered giving.
Flight Centre Business Travel supports local communities through our Reforest partnership, which channels tree planting to native reforestation projects that benefit local ecosystems and communities in Australia and internationally.
Yes. Through our Reforest partnership, every booking can contribute to native tree planting — a tangible way to start addressing the environmental impact of business travel. Trees remove CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow. Projects can be tracked through Reforest's reporting tools, showing CO2 removal, land restored and community impact. Reforest can also support clients who want to explore a broader carbon programme beyond per-booking tree planting.
Our Reforest partnership includes staff engagement tools and communication support so your team understands and participates in the sustainability journey.
Our Travel Managers can highlight lower-emission routing and accommodation options where available. Speak with your Flight Centre Business Travel Travel Manager about how to incorporate sustainable preferences into your travel programme and travel policy.
Through the Reforest platform, clients can track project-level impact in real time — including number of trees planted, land area restored and CO2 removed. Flight Centre Business Travel also reports on its own 1,500-trees-per-month commitment independently.
Yes. The Reforest programme is available to all Flight Centre Business Travel clients. You can start with one tree per booking or work with the Flight Centre Business Travel team to design a tailored programme aligned with your ESG goals. Reforest also provides staff engagement tools so your team can be part of the journey. Speak with your Travel Manager about getting started.
Not necessarily. The cost of adding a tree to a booking through our Reforest partnership starts from $3.50 internationally and $16.50 for Australian projects — a relatively small addition to a typical trip cost. A tailored programme can be scoped to fit your budget. In some cases, choosing lower-emission routing or smarter booking behaviour can reduce both emissions and costs.
A sustainability-focused travel programme reduces your organisation's Scope 3 emissions footprint, supports compliance with emerging ESG reporting requirements, demonstrates genuine environmental commitment to clients and recruits, and gives your team a tangible way to contribute to positive outcomes through their everyday business travel — backed by real, verifiable impact data.
