You’re encouraged to check in at least two hours prior to your flight departure time at Singapore Changi Airport. Some airlines will allow you to check in even earlier, so you can make the most of all the great shopping and other things to do before you board! Once you’ve checked in, make your way to the Departure Transit Hall to enjoy something to eat or drink, or perhaps some pre-flight shopping. Note that no boarding calls will be made, so be sure to keep an eye on the time. Â
Select airlines offer self-service FAST (Fast and Seamless Travel) check-in for departing passengers. This service includes things like collecting your boarding pass and printing your bag tags at the Automated Check-in Kiosks, dropping your bags at the Automated Bag-Drop Machine and making your way through the Automated Immigration Gates if your fingerprints are registered with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore. For more information and guidance on check-in processes, talk to your Travel Expert before your trip.Â
Baggage allowances vary by airline and ticket class, so it’s important to confirm what’s included with your flight booking to avoid any surprises at bag drop! For more specific information on baggage limits, such as the size, weight and number of bags included in your airfare, check with your airline or ask your Travel Expert for assistance. Baggage storage and porter services are available throughout Singapore Changi Airport. Â

You can easily catch the train from Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2) to Tanah Merah MRT Station (EW4), where you can transfer onto city services. Catching a public bus is another option, with bus stops located at the basement bus bays of Terminals 1, 2 and 3. For Terminal 4, the bus stop is located next to Car Park 4B. You can pay for public transport using a contactless debit or credit card, or by purchasing an EZ-Link card from Changi Airport MRT Station.Â

A ride to the city takes around 30 minutes and will cost between S$25 and S$45. Note that there’s an additional Airport Surcharge for all trips leaving from the airport. If you’re travelling with a group, the Ground Transport Concierges in the Arrival Halls can help you arrange to book a larger taxi or limousine.Â
