This shorter Himalayan trek offers an ideal introduction to the villages and rich culture of the Sherpa people.
You’ll spend time exploring the vibrant markets of Namche Bazaar and visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region. Following well-established trails through Sagarmatha National Park, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of many of the world’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest (8,848m/29,032ft), which rises beyond the towering 8,000 metre (26,247ft) summits of Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft) and Nuptse (7,861m/25,791ft).
The trek also visits the traditional villages of Khunde and Khumjung, where Sir Edmund Hillary established the region’s first hospital and school through the Himalayan Trust - a lasting legacy that continues to support local communities today.
