In the cities (Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes and Marrakesh) we use comfortable 3-star hotels or riads (traditional Moroccan houses). These are well-run properties which, where possible, reflect local character and charm
During the trek, in more remote areas we use the best available accommodation, which can be simpler in standard. Accommodation is a mix of wilderness camping and Berber homestays or gites. The gites are family-run village houses, often simple and basic, reflecting a long tradition of shelter and hospitality in the mountains of Morocco. Rooms are often communal and may be shared by the group (sometimes dormitory-style if space is limited), though limited smaller twin share rooms may be available. While facilities are simple, the welcome is warm and genuine, offering travellers a true insight into local culture and daily life in the High Atlas
For the camping portion of your itinerary, we provide kit bags to store your gear (these must remain in Morocco at the end of your trip), sleeping bags, 7cm foam mattresses and two-person tents. Solo tents are available on request for an additional cost. Separate dining, kitchen and toilet tents are also provided, along with all general camping equipment and camp support throughout the trek
