- Prices quoted are based on cheapest available at time of advertising and may be higher depending on date of purchase and date of travel.

- Prices quoted are valid for the travel dates specified, unless otherwise stated or sold out prior.
- All prices are per person (unless stated otherwise). Where companion fares apply, these are subject to two passengers travelling together to the same destination on the same booking.
- Saving (if applicable) is included in the advertised price and unless stated otherwise may not be used with any other offer.
- Seasonal surcharges and blackout dates may apply depending on date of travel.

Colombo's contrasting places of worship serve as some of the city's most beautiful places to visit. Start at the fascinating Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple where you will be kindly greeted by their resident elephant. This modern temple is full of Buddha statues and also includes the breathtaking Simamalaka Shrine, a stunning shrine set on the picturesque Beira Lake. Another interesting destination is the Isipathanaramaya Buddhist Temple where the walls are adorned with bright and colourful paintings depicting Buddha.
For a look at Colombo's colonial past head to Wolvendaal Church, a beautifully preserved building and a landmark of Dutch occupation. Finally, you can admire one of the oldest mosques in Colombo at the majestic Jami-Ul-Alfar Mosque. This stunning red and white mosque is one of the harbour's most recognized monuments. Continue learning about Sri Lanka's captivating history at the nearby National Museum of Colombo. As the country's largest museum, it is home to important Sri Lankan artefacts such as the gold and gemstone covered Kandyan Throne.

Colombo Airport (CMB)
Flights from Australia to Colombo will disembark at Bandaranaike International Airport.
Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), also known as Katunayake International Airport and Colombo International Airport, is located in Katunayake, 35 kilometres north of Colombo.

Getting to Colombo
There are many airlines that offer flights to Colombo from Australia. Flights from Sydney via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur take between 13 and 14 hours depending on the stopover. Flights from Melbourne via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok take between 12 and 15 hours depending on the stopover. Flights from Brisbane via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok take between 14 and 17 hours depending on the stopover. Flights from Perth via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur take between 10 and 12 hours depending on the stopover.
