About Flights To The Gold Coast
As Queensland's top holiday destination, you’ll find there are many things to do on the Gold Coast. If you’re staying for more than a weekend, get a Translink go card, which is a smart card that you can use on buses, trams and trains all around South East Queensland.
In terms of weather, the Gold Coast leaves little to complain about, with around 300 days of sunshine a year. The dining and cafe scene is also a stand-out feature of this region, so if you’re keen to find a cafe or bar once you’ve stepped off your Gold Coast flight, rest assured you won’t have to search for long.
Airports at the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast Airport is officially located at Bilinga, at the very southern tip of the Gold Coast. Not many people have heard of the beachy strip of Bilinga, however, and most locals would probably say that the airport is at the larger and more well-known hub of Coolangatta. (The Gold Coast Airport code is OOL, after all.) From the airport, you can take the SkyBus to the Gold Coast’s other popular destinations, and buses, trains and trams are also available. If you’re travelling to Brisbane, a number of private operators run transfer services.
