Yes! Just be prepared for the conditions. While Playa del Carmen’s beaches are generally pretty calm, if the surf’s up you may have to contend with a bit of a rough sea. But don’t let that put you off! Be sure to check local conditions before dipping your toes in, but if you’re a confident swimmer you’ll love Playa’s beaches.

Playa del Carmen is a year-round destination, where you are likely to experience sunny days and warm daytime temperatures no matter what time of year you visit. December through April is generally a busy time as the weather is warm and dry and northern hemisphere dwellers escape winter in search of sun. May, June and July bring hot temperatures.
