With so many amazing adults-only resorts in Fiji, it’s hard to choose the right one for you as a couple. While they all guarantee azure blue waters and private luxury, each resort has their unique quality, be it over-water bungalows, water adventure sports, exotic cuisines or exemplary spa treatments. Here are five of our favourite adults-only resorts in Fiji.

P.S. Don’t get the wrong idea; adults-only resorts aren’t for adults-only behaviour, but simply a resort that does not cater to or allow guests under 16 years old.

Relax in your stylish over-water bure

Likuliku Lagoon Resort

Likuliku is a unique luxury escape for couples. Located on Fiji’s Malolo Island in the Mamanuca archipelago, this award-winning resort earns its stripes, or should we say ‘palm fronds’ by offering a 5-star experience in an idyllic Fijian location. The first and only resort in Fiji with ‘over-water bures’, a stay at Likuliku is all about subtle luxury, with a vision that harks back to the ancient days of Fiji while offering modern accommodation and dining.

Likuliku in the Malolo dialect literally means 'calm lagoons or waters', and the waters surrounding the resort are at the fringe of a coral reef, which makes them an ideal snorkelling spot.

Couples reach the island by travelling 25 kilometres from Nadi by boat, seaplane or helicopter.

Wake up to tropical paradise at Royal Davui

Royal Davui Island Resort

‘Barefoot Fijian luxury at its finest’ – with a tagline like that, you can expect no less than ultimate relaxation at this exclusive, adults-only sanctuary on the doorstep of Fiji’s stunning Beqa Lagoon. The intimate surrounds of Royal Davui Island offer a certain level of privacy and luxury not easily found today at many of Fiji’s larger resorts.

Accommodating a limited number of guests, the island is even available for private hire. Stay in one of the 16 modern and stylish villas, each with its own heated private plunge pool, spa bath, lounge room and sun deck.

Wake up in a dream-like-state with a romantic champagne breakfast served on a sand bar, before taking a catamaran trip out to the coral reefs for scuba diving. Relax with a spa treatment then enjoy a fresh tropical meal. You can do as much or a little as you like in your very own island paradise.

Royal Davui is a 30-minute heliocopter ride from Nadi. Flight plus boat transfer options are also available.

Matangi Private Island Resort

If a horseshoe is said to represent good luck, then the horseshoe-shaped island of Matangi must be the luckiest place on Earth. This picture-perfect private island resort offers the real essence of Fiji: that magic, laid-back tranquillity and unmatched hospitality.

Stay in a tree-house villa, where you’ll feel at one with nature while being only footsteps away from fine dining, where you can sample the freshest tropical Fijian cuisine. Scuba dive, kayak, bush walk or fish by day, then relax with a traditional Kava session by night or a candlelit dinner with French Champagne.

There are daily flights to Matangi Island’s neighbour, Taveuni Island, which take approximately 90 minutes from Nadi or 60 minutes from Suva. A boat will then connect you to Matangi Private Island Resort.

Enjoy a fusion of Japanese and Fijian flavours at Oishii Teppanyaki or a free-flowing French sparkling wine dinner. If you’re not relaxed enough after a night of wining and dining, head over to Tokoriki Spa for a traditional Fijian pure coconut oil massage.

The beach dreams are made of at Matamanoa

Matamanoa Island Resort

Nature collides at this beautiful 4-star resort nestled in the tranquil Mamanuca Islands, as native bush meets palm-tree-lined beaches and untouched coral reefs. It’s impossible not to succumb to relaxation and leave behind the pressures of life when you find yourself in this adults-only haven spending quality time with your partner.

Explore underwater treasures snorkelling the Pacific Ocean, bond over a social round of tennis, then watch the sun set as you sip on a cocktail from your own private villa. Located approximately 30 kilometres from Nadi, Matamanoa is easily reached by catamaran, private speedboat or helicopter.
