Popular Destinations from Singapore
Singapore is one of the busiest ports in Asia period. There are always hundreds of ships and vessels lining up to load up or off load freight in the busy Port of Singapore - no matter which cruise ship you arrive on you’ll see this spectacular sight on arrival day or night.
It's also a very busy cruise port as well with ships cruising from two seperate terminals
- Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore
- Singapore Cruise Centre at Harbourfront
Having these two terminals can make things a little confusing but fortunately they are not that far apart (only 7 kilometers) being only a 10-15 minutes drive.
Where you're docked
Singapore's two main cruise terminals split cruise ships as follows:
Small and medium cruise ships - dock at International Passenger Terminal on the western end of the city across from Sentosa Island.
This terminal is located in a pretty large shopping mall called Harbourfront Center, and is adjacent to an even bigger mall, Vivocity one of the biggest in Singapore so you can shop till you drop! There is an MRT (Rail station) stop, Harbourfront, conveniently located right here in the mall.
In May 2012 a new cruise terminal, Marina Bay Cruise Centre opened to accommodate bigger cruise ships that previously had to dock at container terminals. Fortunately this is also very well served by public transport with the Marina South Pier MRT (Rail station) station only 600m away from the cruise terminal along a sheltered walkway.
Why Cruise From Singapore
Singapore is an ideal starting point from which to explore Asia, enjoy an repositioning cruise back to Australia or head further afield to North America and beyond. The repositioning cruises are from Singapore to Australia and vice versa.
Singapore Cruising Seasons
Singapore is very close to the equator so has a very limited temperature variation and is either pretty mild or very warm and often humid as well. This makes it an ideal year-round cruising departure point.
