Flights to Hobart
The capital of Tasmania is a peaceful, beautiful city that flawlessly fuses the contemporary and the colonial. As a guide, flights to Hobart from Sydney take around two hours. Nice to know that this idyllic, island escape is not far away.
What to know before you fly to Hobart?
There are myriad things to do in Hobart. Not only is the city itself great to explore – it’s also the perfect place to base yourself if you’re day tripping to Bruny Island, Port Arthur, or Mount Field National Park. From delicious food to familiar stores, Hobart provides all the creature comforts you could want during a getaway in Tasmania.
Hiring a car is a smart option if you want to venture outside the capital, and you can expect quite chilly weather in winter but thankfully, there are plenty of cosy pubs, museums and galleries to keep you entertained.
Airports in Hobart
Hobart International Airport (HBA) is the main passenger airport in Tasmania, located 17km from Hobart city centre, in the suburb of Cambridge. Shuttle buses meet every flight, and take visitors to the city centre in roughly 20 minutes.
