What to know before you fly to Maldives?
The Maldives is one of those glorious destinations that is mostly hot and sunny all year round. That said, the months between May and October will bring afternoon storms. The best time to visit the Maldives is between November and April.

Airports in the Maldives
International flights to the Maldives will disembark at Velana International Airport (MLE) on Hulhule Island in the North Male Atoll, nearby the capital island Male. This is a modern airport, consisting of a single runway along the water’s edge. Ferries or air taxi services are available for transport to the various resort islands. Flying time from Australia to Asian hub airports such as Kuala Lumpur or Singapore is between 8 and 10 hours. Flights from these cities onward to the Maldives will take about 4 or 5 hours.
