Frequently asked questions

Our Arctic tour packages often include visits to Svalbard, Greenland, and the Canadian Arctic.

Some Arctic tour packages include flights, while others do not. Check the package details and chat with your travel expert to include flights in your booking.

Some of our tours offer family-friendly activities and accommodations, making it an incredible trip and learning experience for your tiny travellers. However, some tours may have age limits due to the extreme conditions. If in doubt, chat with your Flight Centre travel expert to help find the right tour for your family.

Visa requirements depend on the departure country. Check specific visa requirements for entering the departure point country and chat with your Flight Centre travel expert for more details.

Of course! Wildlife excursions can easily be added, and are often a major highlight of Arctic tour packages.

Yes, the Arctic is generally safe for tourists. If in doubt, we recommend you follow travel advisories, keep up to date with local guidelines and use common sense. (P.S. Don’t forget to grab some travel insurance, that way you’re covered in case something does go wrong).

The best time to visit the Arctic is during the summer months of June to September. Not only will you have more light and warmer temps, but the sea ice breaks up making it easier for vessels to access epic wildlife viewing spots.

Spoiler alert: it’s gonna be cold. With this in mind, pack plenty of warm, layered clothing and some waterproof, insulated footwear. Socks, beanies and gloves will go a long way, too! If in doubt, your tour provider should have a more detailed idea of what to pack for your trip.

Tours range from a week to three weeks, giving you plenty of time to spot wildlife, visit stunning national parks and explore northern outposts. Got more time up your sleeve? Chat with our travel experts about extending your trip or even tacking on another tour.

Travel insurance is generally not included in the tour package itself. With that in mind, it’s a pretty important part of your holiday (especially in such remote locations), so chat with our travel experts about including it as part of your booking total.
