Guided tours to many of the city's highlights are readily available, or opt for something different such as hot air balloon ride, boat trip or wine tour.
Don't miss these Perth attractions
- See Perth from a helicopter
- Swan Valley river cruises
- Hot air balloon over the Avon Valley

- Guided city tours
The best of the west
A great way to see the city's most exciting attractions is to take a sightseeing tour in Perth. Hop aboard a bus with a friendly local to encounter a number of Perth’s highlights. Alternatively guided walking tours provide historical insight and knowledge as you see the Perth Mint, the Western Australian Museum, 400-hectare Kings Park and the spectacular Cottesloe Beach.
For a change of pace, a tour along the Swan River is a nice way to unwind as you explore the beautiful river scenery. Wine tours through the upper reaches of the river and Swan Valley. Departing from Perth, they allow you to both see and sample Swan Valley's boutique wineries, brewery and cheese makers.
Get out of town
Perth's surrounding areas offer plenty more Western Australian wonders for you to explore. Whale watching tours are popular off of Rottnest Island, while further down the coast Rockingham is home to an abundance of marine life. Take a guided sea kayaking tour and you'll get up close and personal with the local seal, dolphin and penguin population.
Thrill-seekers, there’s plenty for you too. Hot air balloon tours departing from Northam will give you a bird’s eye view of the Avon Valley. Or, shift up a few gears and jump abroad the Westcoast Jet for a high octane speed boat ride from Fremantle.
