Welcome to Venice

Often referred to as the City of Canals, the Floating City, the City of Masks and the City of Bridges, Venice may have a bit of an identity crisis (don’t judge, it’s just trying to work out who it really is) but there’s no denying that this beautiful destination has plenty on offer! Wander the narrow, historic streets surrounding St. Mark’s Square, admire the art and gothic grandeur of the Doge’s Palace or take in the scenic views of the Grand Canal by gondola. And don’t forget to save time for some cicchetti – traditional Venetian nibbles best enjoyed with a glass of wine or two!

Ready to embrace la dolce vita and take the plunge (not literally!) with a trip to Venice? We’ve got plenty of Venice stays just waiting to be booked – from luxury canal-side hotels to budget-friendly options near St. Mark’s Square in central Venice. Browse the deals below and book your Venice accommodation today.

Getting about in Venice

FAQs about stays in Venice

Staying as close as possible to St. Mark’s Square in central Venice is ideal for first-time visitors. Not only will you enjoy some of the city’s most iconic attractions right on your doorstep, but you’ll also have plenty of hotels to choose from, ranging from budget-friendly options to luxury stays. San Polo is perfect for history lovers keen to explore the famous Rialto Bridge and market or, for a more relaxed atmosphere and (slightly) fewer tourists, try staying in Castello. Those looking for a youthful energy and vibrant nightlife will love Dorsoduro, but if easy access to Venice’s main train station and affordable lodgings are your priority, you can’t beat Cannaregio.

Absolutely! A family trip to Venice is one you’ll never forget, so make sure you select the correct number of adults, children and infants travelling with you when searching for Venice accommodation, or ask your Travel Expert to help you find the perfect family-friendly stay for your trip.

Our Venice stays cater to a wide range of holiday styles and budgets. Filter by price when browsing our accommodation deals to find affordable lodgings in Venice that still leave you with a few euros left over for souvenirs!

Serviced apartments and long-stay options may be more limited in Venice than other European cities, particularly in the historic centre. Browse the stays above to find out what amenities and services are available, or talk to your Travel Expert about long-stay options in and around Venice.

The city of Venice is a strictly car-free zone, so you won’t find any hotel parking options. You won’t even find roads! If you’re arriving by car, you’ll need to park somewhere outside the city. Popular spots include the Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, but spots are limited so make sure you book this in advance.

Some of our Venice stays may include flexible booking and cancellation options, but it’s important to read the specific deal’s terms and conditions or talk to your Travel Expert before booking with us to make sure you understand your options. More information on cancellations can also be found in our Help Centre.

While last-minute offers do exist, we'd recommend booking your Venice accommodation as soon as you can. Hotel availability in popular cities like Venice can become limited as your travel dates get closer, particularly if you’re planning to visit during the busy Italian summer! Locking in your hotel nice and early will likely give you more choice and better prices.

Flying into Venice is a little different than flying into other European cities – mostly because it’s normal to catch a water taxi from the airport to your hotel! Some Venice hotels may offer airport transfer services, although this is less common than in other major cities. Click on a specific deal above for more information on hotel services and offers, or talk to your Travel Expert about arranging airport transfers for your trip.

Venice is a beautifully compact city – it's said that you can walk from one side to the other in under an hour – so no matter where you stay, you’re never too far away from all the action! That being said, it’s definitely possible to base yourself nice and close to popular attractions like St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace and Rialto Bridge.

Some Venice hotels offer a complimentary breakfast for their guests, while others may charge an additional fee. To find out if breakfast options are available at a specific hotel, click on the deal above.
